French Butter Bell- Light Turquoise and Forest Green

A modern version of the 16th century “beurrier”, this Butter Bell was created to keep butter from spoiling for longer periods of time without refrigeration.
Fill the base with ¼ – ½ inch of cold water. Place softened butter into the bell firmly with spoon, removing air bubbles. Once the bell is placed into the base the water level will rise around the bell, sealing off oxygen (so butter doesn’t spoil) and keeping it cool. Butter can stay good up to 30 days, though it may vary depending on temperature.
Change the water once a week to keep things fresh. Store on counter away from direct heat or sunlight to prevent the butter from melting. Hand Wash
